Just south of Chiang Rai, off Highway 1, there is one of the most amazing and stunning temples we have ever seen in Thailand. Called officially the “Chapel of Wat Rong Khun” it has become to be known simply as “The White Temple”.

It was designed and built by Thailand’s premier artist Chaloemchai Khositphiphat, which we met personally and he handed over a signed picture of a Ganesh in a surreal environment. The attention to detail is remarkable (a kind of Thai Salvador Dali) and you do need to spend some time here studying the beautiful artwork.

Sunrise at Angkor Wat - visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. It is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five lotus-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level - dedicated to the Hindu god, Vishnu constructed early - mid 12th century by the king Suryavarman II.
